Web Writing Work

I’ve been able to lend my writing expertise to a few websites over the years, some on a professional level and others on a more personal level. Here is a listing of the major web writings I’ve been involved in.

Freelance – Cracked.com

My most recent published article is on Cracked.com and is about Toy Story. You can find it here.

Professor ChrisSEO Coordinator – Performance Marketing NW

  • Maintained five main websites, plus handled smaller tasks.
  • Built two websites by myself based on the established templates.
  • Updated all websites every weekday for roughly a year.

As an SEO Coordinator for Performance Marketing NW, I was in charge of writing daily copy for a number of different sites, including a dog breed site, a cat breed site, a horse breed site, a chicken breed site, and a vegetarian and vegan lifestyle site.

DogBreedsInfo.org

When I started, this was one of the sites that had already been built and just needed me to maintain it. I did so by writing daily articles, performing basic SEO functions, and finding ways to engage readers.

SimplyCatBreeds.org

After learning everything about the dog breeds site, I assisted with creating the cat breeds version. This meant daily articles and continual SEO maintenance, plus learning a lot about cats.

HorseBreedsInfo.com

After building the site, I had to fill it with content, so I was in charge of editing commissioned content from a team of other writers, then maintaining the site itself by writing daily posts and performing basic SEO techniques.

ChickenBreedsList.com

Another site I built, I had to learn everything there was to know about chickens. After editing more content from a team of writers, I was in charge of daily posts and general SEO upkeep.

VegOnline.org

Though not a vegetarian myself, I took it upon myself to learn everything about the lifestyle so that I could provide daily articles and perform the needed SEO requirements.

Tomopop LogoWriter – Tomopop.com

  • Wrote more than 100 articles over the course of a year.
  • Added my voice to the official Tomopop podcast multiple times.
  • Interacted with the community and moderated comments as necessary.

A sister site to Destructoid, Tomopop allowed me to write about toys and collectibles for a very excited and engaged community. My full listing of articles can be found here.

Toy_TMA LogoEditor-in-Chief – Toy-TMA.com

  • Wrote around 250+ articles for the site over the course of three years.
  • Managed a small team of other writers and edited their content.
  • Performed basic SEO functions.
  • Moderated the site as necessary.

One of my longest stints was as the Editor-in-Chief of a small toy and video game site called Toy-TMA.com, which I decided stood for “Too Much Awesome” since the name was a defunct acronym the site had inherited from its previous owner. I sought to increase traffic by varying the site’s content via adding more articles about comic books, anime, video games, and pop culture in general. My full archive of articles can be found here.

Eclipse Star LogoPersonal Writings – EclipseStar.wordpress.com

  • Maintained creative writing throughout college.
  • Stuck with a single story for over 75 chapters.
  • Collected all creative writing samples into one place.

This is my personal writing site where I collect everything I’ve ever written for myself, dating all the way back to high school. It’s a good place to see my style grow and develop over the years, and to see how dedicated I can be to a single project. The site gets it name from the title of a story I’ve been working on for half my life called Eclipse Star. The earlier chapters are in need of an update, but I’d highly recommend sticking with it, partly because I still want feedback for when I do get around to rewriting it.
